I decide to explore some of the photographs I took last week, using basic editing tools within Snapseed on my smartphone and Photoshop. I tend to do simple small edits to achieve the style I want from my photography. These usually consist of exposure corrections, curves, highlights/shadows within Photoshop, but in Snapseed I use some of the quick edit tools, including those above, but also HDR adjustments to make certain textures and colours stand out and created deeper contrasts. I am still changing and exploring my style, but I almost always add a vignette to my images now. I like the look it gives and in some cases draws the viewers eye in to the focal point of the photograph.

These were taken primarily using a Canon 1100D, except for the bird feathers which I took on my Samsung phone.
There is a strong theme of loss and death in these images, all of which I came across while doing my charity walk, which seemed quite apt at the time and all taken while looking down at the pavement as I walked. This links with my Look Down idea which I am forming at the moment. Capturing life, death and objects at our feet which may normally go unnoticed.
I did two edits of the bunch of flowers, one in colour and one in black and white. I wanted to give a melancholic feel to the image, as these were flowers which had been blown from a memorial bench, by the strong wind. They had landed by the railings at the cliffs edge, just sat perfectly in one piece, looking tattered and worn, as well as dying. This made me question how long had they been there? are they replaced regularly? I felt a sense of sadness too, as they were for a relative/loved one who had died and now they were dying as well.
