Book Design: Final

In my final design for my book, I have made the following amendments. Firstly, I have decided to include my intent at the start of the book, as I was considering in my previous post. This links the project to any occasion it could be viewed on it's own away from my MA, as a stand alone project.

I have transferred the design into Zno, with the only change being the font. I am approaching this book as a final location of the project that could be viewed on it's own or within or alongside a gallery exhibition, and I have the option to develop the design further if I choose, currently this could be seen as a prototype or version one of the book, which sets up ideas and design possibilities if I were to produce another. By having this book printed, I will see how the quality of the prints will be, the size of the book and how it's aesthetic works. Seeing the book physically will determine how successful this design is.

Intent

Fragile explores the relationship between nature and ourselves, highlighting the beauty within natural structures we do not normally notice. It explores the similarities between these natural structures and our own bodies, emotions, health, and personal experiences.

Font Design

I reviewed the font used on the platform Zno where I am ordering my book from. Once adding the paragraph holding my intent, it was clear the the font 'Cookie' no longer suited the design. It was hard to read and seemed cluttered. I decided to change it to another font 'Foglihten', which has a similar delicate feel and appearance and is much clearer for the viewer to read.

Additional Text - InDesign

I also decided following my design changes above to include the title and date at the end of the book. This gives a time stamp to the project.

Final Design Flip Through Video

Below is a video flip through of the final book design, via Zno.com. . Upon reflection, I am satisfied with the developments made over the weeks, and the book is at a final stage. I have now ordered the book, which is due to arrive after the module has finished and past the deadline for assignments, but you can view the final design as how it will look below.
