There will be an addition to the text to include the word ‘Awareness’. This will represent how I feel when walking, my feelings and that of my body. This will bring the word count to 12 which correlates to the number of images I would like to use, one word for each image. I will design a new text layout to include the new word and decide on the sequence and start at the beginning of the book, as previously discussed.

I have changed the cover background to black to represent the darkness used within my work and I have set the text to the left of the page alongside an image. This choice was made as I felt just the word ‘Fragile’ was too minimal and I wanted to add an image to complete the design. I chose the pumpkin lantern image because it was the image that caused the most intrigue in my webinars and reviews. Its orientation also fits the layout of the design allowing space for the title alongside it. I am unsure whether to include the word ‘by’ in the final design, this is something I will think about as well as the placement of my name, which may suit being lower done on the cover.

Zno Design

Book Design transferred and design via the website and book printing service Zno.com

By using the specifications and measurements of an 8” X 11” book, I have used Zno.com and their Booklet design service. This reason was after some investigating, I am able to choose a minimum number of pages of 12. Due to my design, I need 16 and this design allows me to add additional pages where needed. This design will be professionally bound, with paper cover and art print pages matted to suit the aesthetic of the work. My plan is to have this design printed in booklet format as a prototype with the option to create a hardback book in the future.

Book Version 3 - InDesign

I have now dropped the word ‘by’ from the cover and lowered my name to the bottom of the page, I feel this gives space to the word Fragile and allows some negative space around the centre of the book cover. I have also now added the text on what would be page 2. This is in the same order and format as my current work in progress portfolio and layout on the online gallery design, this relates the work on different platforms and formats.

The images are now also in sequence with that of the work in progress portfolio and layout out one image per page, with my name and social media Instagram tag on the final page.

I am unsure if I want to add more text at the beginning of the book on page one, stating the intent for the project. This could anchor the work and give context to the project for the audience, and something I will think about. Once I have decided on my final design, I will send the design to be printed.

Unfortunately, the final book will likely arrive after I have submitted my assignments and the module has finished, due to the time left, but hopefully you will have an idea of what it will look like from my designs shown and discussed here in my CRJ.
